What I Actually Use

The one link I send when someone asks, "Hey, what do you use for ___?" Real answers, no overwhelm.

Hi, I'm so glad you're here.

These are the questions I get asked the most — in DMs, after class, in the school pickup line. Instead of typing the same answer ten times a week, I put it all in one place.

Here's the deal: you don't need to swap everything at once. Scroll to the question that's been on your mind, see what we actually use at our house, and start with one small thing.

Question 1

"What do you clean with instead of the store-bought stuff?"

Three things. That's it. I stopped reading labels in the cleaning aisle a long time ago.

Thieves Foaming Hand Soap Concentrate

Lives at every sink in our house. It smells amazing and the kids actually use it without being asked twice.

Thieves Kitchen and Bath Scrub

For the tub, the sink, the stovetop — anywhere I used to grab the heavy stuff. A little goes a long way.

Thieves Fruit and Veggie Soak

Berries go in here the second I get home from the store. They last way longer and I worry less about what's still on them.

Question 2

"What makes your house smell so good if you don't burn candles?"

A diffuser and a few favorite oils. That's the whole secret.

Purification Essential Oil Blend

My go-to when something in the house smells off — gym shoes, the trash can, that mystery smell in the car.

Citrus Fresh Essential Oil Blend

If our kitchen had a signature scent, this is it. I diffuse it most mornings while we make breakfast.

Product photo placeholder

Orange Essential Oil

Cheap, cheerful, and impossible to mess up. Even the picky humans in my house love this one.

Question 3

"What's your kids' bedtime routine?"

Lights low, diffuser on, books open. These are the four we rotate through.

Product photo placeholder

KidScents SleepyIze

A drop on each foot before pajamas. My kids ask for it now, which still kind of surprises me.

Product photo placeholder

Lavender Essential Oil

The classic. I keep one in every bedroom and add a few drops to the diffuser most nights.

Product photo placeholder

Cedarwood Essential Oil

Warm and grounding. I pair it with Lavender when I want the room to feel extra cozy.

Peace & Calming Essential Oil Blend

For the wound-up nights when nobody wants to slow down. This one helps the whole house exhale.

Question 4

"Is there a sunscreen and bug spray you trust for your kids?"

Yes. These three live in the beach bag from May through September.

Product photo placeholder

Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50

Goes on smooth, no weird white streaks on my kids. This is the one I stopped second-guessing.

Insect Repellent

Plant-based and actually works. We use it on backyard nights, hikes, and anywhere mosquitoes get bold.

Product photo placeholder

LavaDerm After-Sun Spray

For the days we stayed at the pool too long. Cool, soothing, and so easy to spritz on a wiggly kid.

Question 5

"What's in your family's bathroom cabinet?"

The boring everyday stuff that adds up the most. Start here if you only swap one room.

Product photo placeholder

KidScents Toothpaste

Mild flavor, clean ingredient list. My kids brush without complaining, which is honestly the bar.

Product photo placeholder

Thieves Fresh Essence Plus Mouthwash

No burn, no dye, just feels good. This was an easier swap than I expected.

Thieves Dental Floss

Strong, smooth, and the little hint of Thieves on the floss is somehow very satisfying.
